Brennan to unveil new training schemes
Minister for Social Affairs Seamus Brennan is due to announce details today of a plan to reduce the level of long-term unemployment in Ireland.
Minister Brennan is planning a number of measures to help people who have been out of work for a long time to get training and to find a job.
"I reject the stereotype view of unemployed people, which is that they don't want to work. Most of them do and our job is to make sure they have the skills to take up the jobs."
