Galway traders seek compo deal for losses
Galway city centre businesses have vowed to seek compensation for losses they have suffered due to the redevelopment of Eyre Square.
Local traders have been repeatedly complaining about disruption caused by the €9m project, which began in May of last year. They say their profits have been cut by around 40% as a result of the scheme.
Earlier this week, the contractor involved in the development abandoned the site due to what it said was a contractual dispute with Galway City Council, which is now seeking a new builder to finish the work.
