Chinese man stabbed to death in Dublin’s south inner city

A young Chinese man has died after being stabbed during a robbery at his house in Dublin’s south inner city this morning.

The 23-year-old man challenged an intruder at the rented house on Reuben Avenue in Rialto at around 5am.

The intruder stabbed him in the chest and he was pronounced dead at St James’s Hospital a short time later.

The scene has been preserved and a post mortem is due to be carried out later today, after which gardaí are expected to launch a murder inquiry.
