UUP: Contentious parades issue must be resolved

The new UUP leader Reg Empey has said the contentious issue of parades must be solved before a stable political settlement can be reached for the North.

He was speaking to a crowd of Orange Order members who gathered for a protest march down the Shankill area of the city yesterday.

Sir Empey also went on to say that he is under no illusions about the difficulties that lie ahead for the peace process.
