163 jobs to go at Dublin printers
163 jobs will be lost in Dublin next month as Terenure Printers announced it will close its Terenure print plant.
The company said the decision follows the loss of key print contracts. Staff were told of the decision at a company meeting today.
115 permanent and 48 casual staff will be affected by the decision. A €10m redundancy package will be available to staff.
Michael Brophy, managing director, Terenure Printers said: "This was a difficult decision but it was unavoidable in the context of recent print contract losses and the underlying cost issues involved.
"Despite our best efforts we were unable to recover these key print contracts for Terenure and over recent days our focus has shifted to securing a generous and fair package for our employees, reflective of their contribution and efforts over many years."
