Pharmaceutical firm to create 86 jobs in Larne

A US pharmaceutical firm is planning to create 86 jobs as part of an expansion of its plant in Larne, Co Antrim.

Gambro BCT said it was planning to spend £7m (€10.5m) on expanding the Ivex Pharmaceuticals factory in the town over the next three years.

The move was announced today by Invest Northern Ireland, which is contributing £840,000 (€1.3m) to the project.

The body said the investment would be worth around €2m a year in additional salaries and wages to the local economy.
