A pensioner was treated for shock and minor injuries today after a gas explosion in his home.

A pensioner was treated for shock and minor injuries today after a gas explosion in his home.

The man, who is 92, was hurt on his hands and face after the explosion in the kitchen of his house at Killen, near Castlederg, in Northern Ireland.

The house was badly damaged in the explosion, which occurred shortly before 9am. The man’s injuries were not life-threatening.

Police are investigating the cause of the explosion.
