Two held after body find

Two men were today arrested following the death of a man, whose body was found on the side of a road in Kildare early today.

Two men were today arrested following the death of a man, whose body was found on the side of a road in Kildare early today.

The man, a Brazilian national in his 30s who had lived in the area for some years, was found shortly after 4am in Ruanbeg Close in the town.

Two men were arrested this afternoon and were being held in Kildare garda station under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, a garda spokeswoman confirmed.

The scene was preserved for technical examination and the body was later taken to Naas General Hospital where the Assistant State Pathologist Dr Michael Curtis is performing a post-mortem examination.

Gardaí have appealed for anyone with any information to contact them at Kildare Garda Station.
