Cork bank notes were from Belfast bank raid - PSNI

Two senior police officers in the North have said they are clear that bank notes recovered in Cork were stolen in the Northern Bank raid.

Speaking in Derry at a Police Board meeting, the chief constable and an assistant chief constable said they were liasing closely with gardaí.

The chief-constable of the PSNI Hugh Orde said he was very clear where the money in Cork had come from.

He said it had moved across the border by an IRA money laundering operation.
