Vatican appoints new Bishop of Galway

The Vatican has announced the appointment of the Most Reverend Martin Drennan as the new Bishop of Galway.

Bishop Drennan will take over from Bishop James McLoughlin, whose resignation has been accepted by the Pope.

He has picked up pastoral and administrative experience as an Auxiliary Bishop in Dublin over the past five years.
