The Labour Party has called on the Government to review arrangements whereby the Irish taxpayer pays charges for foreign military aircraft passing through Irish airspace.

Party spokesperson Roisín Shortall said figures she obtained by the Department of Transport showed that military over-flights had cost taxpayers almost €10m in the five years from 2000 to 2004.
