Labour demands review of overflight charges

The Labour Party has called on the Government to review arrangements whereby the Irish taxpayer pays charges for foreign military aircraft passing through Irish airspace.

Party spokesperson Róisín Shortall said figures she obtained by the Department of Transport showed military over-flights had cost taxpayers almost €10m in the five years from 2000 to 2004.
