Staff must play part to end A&E crisis - Harney

The Minister for Health Mary Harney has said hospital staff must play a part to ensure the A&E crisis does not worsen.

Tánaiste Harney was speaking at the annual conference of the Irish Nurses Organisation in Killarney. She has told delegates her 10-point Hospital Plan will alleviate pressure on the health service.

She said: “The programme of reform is very focused around solution to A&E…of course they can’t be resolved on there own. I don't manage the hospitals so those that work in a hospital setting have also got to work their part.”
