Workplace accidents climb 30%

The number of people killed in work-related accidents is up 30% in the first four months of this year, according to figures published today by the Health and Safety Authority.

The authority said 23 people had been killed in workplace accidents so far this year, nine of them in the construction industry and seven on farms.
