Workers strike at quarries in west

Up to 300 workers employed at a group of quarries in Mayo, Sligo and Galway have gone on strike today as part of a campaign for higher pay.

The workers, who are not unionised, say they intend to continue their action until management at Harrington's Quarries meet their demands.
