A new €11m accident and emergency department has opened at Cork University Hospital today.

A new €11m accident and emergency department has opened at Cork University Hospital today.

The Health Service Executive said the new facility, which is part of a €220m expansion programme at the hospital, was capable of handling 50,000 patients every year.
