Military hospital may be used to ease Mater overcrowding
The Department of Defence is reportedly planning to make a 100-bed military hospital available to the health services in an effort to alleviate A&E overcrowding.
Reports this morning said St Bricin's Hospital in Dublin would be made available to the Mater Hospital in an effort to ease overcrowding in the latter's accident and emergency department.
St Bricin's is located around two miles from the Mater and this morning's reports said consultants had previously requested that the facilities at the military hospital be made available to the health services.
