A&E protests to resume today

Nurses are due to mount half-hour lunchtime protests at hospitals in Cavan, Mayo and Tallaght today as part of a campaign to highlight the ongoing crisis in accident and emergency departments.

The Irish Nurses Organisation and SIPTU have arranged a series of protests every Tuesday and Thursday until the end of the month to express their anger at the situation.

They are accusing the Government of doing nothing to ease overcrowding in A&E units and have appealed to the public to join in the protests.
