MEPs to give McCartney sisters financial assistance

The socialist group of the European parliament has agreed to give financial assistance to the sisters of the murdered Belfast man Robert McCartney, for their campaign to bring his killers to justice.

The socialist group of the European parliament has agreed to give financial assistance to the sisters of the murdered Belfast man Robert McCartney, for their campaign to bring his killers to justice.

The group has said it will help in the costs of a possible civil action against those alleged to have been involved in the murder.

It follows a visit by the McCartney family to the Parliament last week, when they met several MEPs.
