Adams asks IRA to 'fully embrace political means'

Sinn Féin president Gerry Adams has appealed to the IRA to "fully embrace…fully political and democratic means" to move the peace process forward.

Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams today told the IRA there was an alternative to arms struggle.

Mr Adams, speaking in Belfast, said the way forward for the Republican movement was to engage in purely political and democratic activity.
