Second survey confirms house price rises

Second-hand house prices in Dublin have risen by 5% in the first three months of this year, according to estate agents Douglas Newman Good.

The company said the average price of a second-hand house in the capital was now more than €400,000.

It said stamp duty changes in the Budget were responsible for much of the increase so far this year.
