Two women held after fatal shooting

Gardaí investigating a gangland-style shooting in Dublin early today arrested two women tonight.

They are being questioned under Section 30 of the Offences Against The State Act at Kevin Street Garda Station in the city.

A 24-year-old man died after he was shot twice on Military Road, Kilmainham, just after midnight.

At least five shots were fired. One bullet smashed the window of a nearby house.

Gardaí say more people could have been injured or killed due to the indiscriminate shooting.

The victim, who was a married man, was known to Gardaí.

Officers said it was the first so-called gangland killing of 2005.
