Arrested man released in McCartney murder probe
A man arrested in connection with the murder of Belfast man Robert McCartney was released without charge late last night.
He was taken into custody after he presented himself at Musgrave police station with his solicitor yesterday afternoon.
Mr McCartney, a 33-year old father-of-two, died after being stabbed in a city centre pub four weeks ago.
The IRA has expelled three members for their part in the murder, and Gerry Adams has said that he wants anyone with information to come forward.
The McCartney family have called on everyone present at the murder to turn themselves in.
A public rally will be held in the Short Strand area of Belfast later today, in a second show of support for the McCartney family.
More than 600 people gathered for a candlelight street vigil in defiance of Robert's killers shortly after his death.
