PSNI appeal for witnesses to kidnapping in Derry

Detectives in County Derry are appealing for witnesses to the kidnapping of a 23-year-old woman from a house in the city last night.

She was abducted by four men, one armed with a knife, when she answered a knock at her door shortly after 9pm.

Police say the woman was forced into a stolen car and driven across the border to Grainne's Gap, near Muff in County Donegal.

The four men ordered her to stay where she was and not move, but then fled themselves.

The woman, who was not injured in the incident, was picked up by a passing motorist at dawn.

The car was later recovered by gardaí.
