Detectives investigating the murder of Robert McCartney today said they arrested a man after he and his solicitor went to a police station in Belfast.

The man went to Musgrave Street Police Station in Belfast with his solicitor.

The move came after the family of Mr McCartney called on everyone who was present when he was murdered in a Belfast City centre bar on January 30 to turn themselves in.

The murder has led to the expulsion of three members of the IRA by the Provisionals leadership.
