The Taoiseach Bertie Ahern is due to visit Bulgaria and Poland over the next few days to discuss EU political issues.

Mr Ahern is due to meet his Bulgarian counterpart in Sofia later today to discuss how Ireland can assist the country's application for membership of the European Union.
