IMC recommends sanctions on SF
The Independent Monitoring Commission has recommended the imposition of political and financial sanctions against Sinn Féin because of the IRA's involvement in the Northern Bank raid.
In a report published today, the body backed the PSNI's assertion that the Provisional IRA was behind the £26.5m (€38.6m) heist, as well as other robberies over the past year, including the theft of £2m (€2.9m) worth of cigarettes in October.
