A garda officer is being questioned by detectives today in relation to a €250,000 drugs haul in Drogheda yesterday.

A garda officer is being questioned by detectives today in relation to a €250,000 drugs haul in Drogheda yesterday.

Officers seized 13,300 ecstasy tablets, cocaine and amphetamines in a planned raid on an apartment on Dyer Street.

The garda, who is believed to have been in the apartment at the time, is today being questioned under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

A 32-year-old man also arrested at the scene was charged under drugs legislation at Ardee District Court last night.
