Gardai have arrested 94 people for drugs offences under Operation Cleanstreet, it emerged tonight.

Gardai have arrested 94 people for drugs offences under Operation Cleanstreet, it emerged tonight.

The operation, which is run by the Garda National Drugs Unit, was aimed at clearing drug dealers from the streets and nightclubs of Dublin.

The arrests were carried out in the last three weeks and resulted in 136 seizures of drugs such as heroin, cocaine, ecstasy and cannabis resin.

Gardaí said the people arrested were aged between 17 and 32 and included 17 women.
