FG, Labour want audit into Government PR contracts
Opposition leaders have called on the Government spending watchdog to carry out an audit on State advertising and Public Relations contracts.
Fine Gael leader Enda Kenny and Labour leader Pat Rabbitte want the Comptroller & Auditor General to carry out a value-for-money audit on media-related contracts, which cost the taxpayer almost €8.5m last year.
It comes after the investigation into a contract awarded by former Environment Minister Martin Cullen to his PR agent Monica Leech.
