Dublin pub found to have bogus disabled toilet facilities
Groups working with the disabled have condemned a Dublin pub that was found to have a bogus toilet facility for people with disabilities.
A doorway indicating wheelchair access in the toilets of The Mezz pub, in the Temple Bar area of the city, has been found to be nothing but a red door with no facilities behind it.
Under current building guidelines, pubs built or renovated after 1991 are required to provide appropriate facilities for disabled people.
Mary Keogh, the director of the Forum for People with Disabilities, said the situation at The Mezz raised questions about whether proper inspections were being carried out.
