Ahern urged to explain Burke Cabinet appointment

Disgraced Ray Burke’s appointment to Taoiseach Bertie Ahern’s first Cabinet must be fully explained, it was claimed today.

Fine Gael leader Enda Kenny said Burke’s elevation to Justice Minister in 1997 called into question the Taoiseach’s judgment of character.
