Met Eireann predicts freezing week

Met Eireann has predicted a major cold snap over the coming days, with sub-zero temperatures forecast for the remainder of the week.

Forecasters said air temperatures would fall to minus three or minus four degrees celsius, while ground temperatures would fall as low as minus nine or minus ten.
