Body recovered from Clare river

A body has been taken from the River Fergus in Ennis, Co Clare.

A body has been taken from the River Fergus in Ennis, Co Clare.

The body was discovered by Civil Defence Divers, shortly before 12pm and has been moved to the Mid-Western Regional Hospital in Ennis.

A Post-mortem examination will take place later in Limerick.

Gardaí have yet to identify the body, but it is expected that the discovery will bring an end to the week-long search for a missing 27-year-old Galway man.

Aidan O'Donoghue of Caherglissane, Gort, Co Galway, hasn't been seen since he left a night-club in Ennis in the early hours of last Sunday morning.
