Search underway on Monaghan lake after tip-off

A search is underway in Lough Muckno, Co Monaghan, after gardaí received a report suggesting there may be a body in the lake.

A team of divers from the Monaghan Sub Aqua Club are searching the water and Garda teams are combing the lake's banks.

A telephone caller to Castleblaney garda station last night said a man was drowning in the lake. There are no reports of missing people in the area.
