Officials in Thailand have positively identified the body of Tyrone man Conor Keightley, who had been missing since the St Stephen's Day tsunami disaster.

The 30-year-old, from Cookstown, was holidaying in Thailand when the giant tidal wave struck on December 26.

His relatives had flown to Thailand to search for his body and believed they had found the remains in a mortuary in Krabi yesterday.

Tests today confirmed that the body was that of Mr Keightley, who is the second Irish person confirmed dead in the disaster.

The body of 27-year-old Dubliner Eilis Finnegan was found in Thailand last week.

Another two Irish people, Michael Murphy from Co Wexford and Lucy Coyle from Dublin, are still missing and feared dead in the south-east Asian country.
