Gardaí hunt Limerick post office raiders

Gardaí in Limerick are hunting four men who raided a rural post office, making off with €4,000 earlier today.

The four entered the post office in Lisnagry, Co Limerick armed with an iron bar and a slash hook.

They threatened staff and demanded cash. No one was injured in the raid which took place at 2.45pm.

It is understood the thieves stole around €4,000 in the robbery.

However, gardaí were tonight still waiting to confirm the exact amount of money taken in the heist.

"They were very aggressive and threatening," said one shocked staff member who did not wish to be named.

Gardaí have appealed to anyone who was in the area to contact them with any information which may help them with their inquiries.
