The telecommunications firm eircom has admitted that a billing error has led to 11,000 of its customers having to pay two phone bills this month.

The telecommunications firm eircom has admitted that a billing error has led to 11,000 of its customers having to pay two phone bills this month.

The company said people who pay their bill by direct debit had a double payment deducted from their bank accounts this month because a processing error meant they were not charged for August and September.
