The Gardaí have released the names of three of the five people who died in accidents on roads around the country last night.

21-year-old Rory Gallagher was killed instantly when his car hit a building in Stranorlar, County Donegal at 1.30am.

The two people who died shortly after midnight on the main Boyle to Roscommon road, outside the village of Tulsk, have been named as 44-year-old Martin Connor and 50-year-old Teresa Smyth.

Meanwhile, a woman in her 20s died in Mullingar, when the car she was driving hit a tree, and a pedestrian was killed in near Loughrea, in Co Galway, early yesterday evening.
