McDowell seeks clarity on IRA criminal activity
The Minister for Justice Micheal McDowell has called on the IRA to confirm if it has put an end to criminal activity.
Minister McDowell told the Dáil that if the IRA had not arrived at a point of putting criminal activity behind, there would be no deal in the North.
“If they haven’t arrived at that point please tell us and if they have arrived at that point please tell us but this is an issue on which there could be no budge from us, no fudge from them and there will be no deal if there is not clarity,” said the Minister.
