Two arrested over shooting
Two men have been arrested in connection with a shooting incident in Co Tipperary, gardai confirmed tonight.
The men, both in their 20s, were arrested separately shortly before 3pm and are being quizzed at Clonmel Garda Station on suspicion of firearms offences.
A 30-year-old man remains in hospital with a gunshot wound to the lower back after a gang of masked men broke into his Clonmel home shortly after midnight.
He was shot at least once in the lower back before the gunmen escaped from the house, on Oakland Drive, and made off in different directions.
The victim was taken to Our Lady’s Hospital, Cashel where his injury is not thought to be life threatening.
