Colombian Greens seek Irish support for hostage
Members of the Colombian Green Party are calling on the Irish Government to support their efforts to release their leader, Ingrid Betancourt, who has been held hostage by FARC rebels for 1,000 days.
The Colombians are in Dublin for a conference of delegates of the European Greens.
The human rights campaigner was captured in 2002 following her campaigns against drug criminals and corruption.
The leader of the Irish Green Party, Trevor Sargent, called on the Irish people to show support for Ms Betancourt.
