Dublin’s Christmas lights to be switched on today

Dublin’s Christmas lights will be turned on today at 5.30pm during a festive event between the Spire and the Larkin Statue on O' Connell Street.

A 60 foot tall Christmas tree has been erected bearing over 1,000 lights.

The lights will be turned by the Lord Mayor of Dublin, Councillor Michael Conaghan.

Mary Wier of Dublin City Council has advised everyone to arrive on time.
