Strike averted at An Post

Postal chaos in the run-up to Christmas has been averted following agreement on staffing and overtime at the Labour Relations Commission tonight.

An Post management has agreed to arrangements put in place for Christmas last year.

The Communications Workers Union has received assurances from An Post that sufficient resources will be put in place to avoid a repeat of the mayhem that occurred prior to Christmas in 2002.
