Ireland tops world survey on quality of life

Ireland has the best quality of life in the world, according to a survey published by the Economist magazine.

The “life satisfaction” survey ranks Ireland top of the list of 111 countries as the best place to live.

Despite the bad weather, troubled health service, traffic congestion, gender inequality, and the high cost of living, Ireland scored an impressive if somewhat unbelievable, 8 points out of 10.

Ireland’s success is attributed to retaining a strong community and family-based society.

America, which is the second-richest country in the world, came in at 13th place, while Britain lagged behind at 29th.
