Ahern announces €16m investment at teaching college

Taoiseach Bertie Ahern has announced a capital investment of €16m in Mary Immaculate College in Limerick.

Taoiseach Bertie Ahern has announced a capital investment of €16m in Mary Immaculate College in Limerick.

"I am pleased to announce that the Minister for Education and Science will be giving immediate approval to Mary Immaculate College to proceed to tender on the multi-purpose teaching hall and the associated infrastructure works," he said.

<p> Volunteers attending the DMax 7.7 fitness event, in honour of Darragh McCarthy, who tragically passed away last year at just 21 years of age. The sold-out fitness event saw over 300 competitors take on DMax 7.7 featuring seven fitness stations, lasting seven minutes per station with a two minute transition between station. Competitors entered in teams of two and tested their strength, endurance and mental resilience across a series of challenges including rope skipping, ski-erg, medicine ball, assault bike, rowing, burpee box jumps and wall balls.
