A 20 year-old Latvian national has appeared in court charged in connection with an armed robbery at a bank on the University of Limerick campus.

A 20 year-old Latvian national has appeared in court charged in connection with an armed robbery at a bank on the University of Limerick campus.

Mr Edwins Larionovs with an address at Roches Street, Limerick, appeared today at a special sitting of Limerick District Court.

He was charged with robbery at the AIB branch at the University of Limerick, Castletroy, on November 4 last.

Detective Garda Deirdre Morris gave evidence to the court of arrest, charge and caution. The court heard that the accused man made no reply in response to the charge and there was no application for bail.

He was remanded in custody to appear again before Limerick District Court on November 10 next.
