The jury in the trial of a community garda accused of assaulting three protesters at the "Reclaim the Streets" demonstration in May 2002 was discharged by Judge Yvonne Murray following legal argument.

A new jury will be sworn in tomorrow and the trial will recommence in Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.
