A Garda was temporarily blinded after getting a kick in the face during disturbances at a Halloween bonfire, a court has heard.

The jury in the trial of a community garda accused of assaulting three protesters at the "Reclaim the Streets" demonstration in May 2002 was discharged by Judge Yvonne Murray following legal argument.
