Passenger killed in Leitrim accident

A man in his mid-twenties has died following a road accident near Drumshambo in Co Leitrim.

The man was a passenger in the vehicle that left the road and hit a tree. The driver of the car was also injured and was taken to Sligo General hospital.

The accident happened at 5am today.

Gardaí in Carrick-on-Shannon are investigating.
